Room temperature connectors on cryostats often don't stay at room temperature - during cooldown or cryogen filling they can often become cold enough to condense water on, or even freeze.

This is why our fully metal-shielded connectors not only provide a waterproof seal between plug and socket, but the hermetic receptacles, typically mounted on the cryostat also offer the highest levels of leak-tightness commercially available.
