Accurate temperature measurement requires effective heatsinking of both the thermometer and the wires that run from higher temperature to the thermometer. Sufficient heatsinking of the wiring loom should be considered early in the design stage. Equally important for establishing confidence in your cryogenic instrument is to have measurement wiring you can rely upon run after run. As a result we recommend always encapsulating any soldered joints on low temperature loom or connectors.
